Africa Energy Innovation Competition 2026: Up to US$10,000 in Grants and Business Support

What Is the Africa Energy Innovation Competition?

The Africa Energy Innovation Competition, also known as AEIC, is designed for early-stage energy entrepreneurs who are building practical solutions using local resources and expertise.

The competition is now in its 10th edition. Its broader focus is on energy transition, youth employment and local manufacturing. Rather than asking participants to submit a business idea with no practical application, the competition expects applicants to develop a prototype model or solution that can potentially be demonstrated and scaled. • Energizing Agribusiness and Social Development
• Greening Local Manufacturing and Value Addition

This gives applicants room to approach the energy problem from different angles. Your solution could involve clean energy, energy efficiency, productive-use technologies, transportation or an energy-related business model.

Who Can Apply?

This means applicants should avoid filling the proposal with technical language. The judges need to understand the problem, what you are building, how it works, what it will cost and who will benefit.
