The Bosun Tijani Foundation Gen AI Fellowship Cohort 2 for Nigerians is giving aspiring AI professionals a rare opportunity to gain practical, industry-relevant skills in Generative Artificial Intelligence while receiving a ₦50,000 monthly stipend throughout the programme. As businesses across the world continue to adopt AI technologies, the demand for professionals who can build, deploy, and manage AI solutions is growing rapidly. This six-month fellowship is designed to prepare young Nigerians for that future through intensive hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world projects that go beyond classroom theory.
What Is the Bosun Tijani Foundation Gen AI Fellowship?
The fellowship is organised by the Bosun Tijani Foundation in partnership with the Ogun State Ministry of Science and Technology. Building on the success of its first cohort, the programme aims to develop a new generation of AI professionals capable of creating solutions for businesses, government, and society.
Training will take place physically at designated centres in ICT Park, Abeokuta, and Kano, beginning on 1 September 2026. Over six months, participants will receive intensive technical instruction, practical assignments, mentorship, and career support from experienced AI professionals.
Applicants can choose between two specialised learning tracks depending on their interests and career goals.
The AI Engineering Track focuses on building and deploying AI systems. Participants will learn machine learning, model fine-tuning, MLOps, cloud deployment using tools such as Docker and Amazon SageMaker, AI security, model optimisation, and modern Agentic Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
The AI Application Track is designed for those interested in developing AI-powered products. It covers modern web development with Next.js and React, AI API integration using leading models such as OpenAI and Claude, backend development, databases, product design, and user experience for AI applications.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to young Nigerians who are eager to build a career in artificial intelligence.
The organisers encourage applications from:
- Students and recent graduates.
- Software developers looking to specialise in AI.
- Early-career technology professionals.
- Beginners with a strong interest in artificial intelligence.
- Individuals willing to commit to the full six-month training programme.
Applicants should be prepared to attend physical training sessions at either the Abeokuta or Kano training centre if selected. Passion, commitment, and a willingness to learn are considered just as important as previous technical experience.
Why This Fellowship Stands Out
Many AI courses teach concepts, but this fellowship places a strong emphasis on building practical skills that employers are looking for.
Successful fellows will receive:
- A ₦50,000 monthly stipend throughout the programme.
- Six months of intensive hands-on AI training.
- Mentorship from experienced AI engineers and industry professionals.
- Opportunities to work on real-world AI projects.
- Access to learning resources and development tools.
- A certificate upon successful completion.
- Career guidance and job placement support.
- Networking opportunities with employers and technology companies.
According to the organisers, the first cohort produced graduates who have gone on to secure AI-related roles and contribute to technology startups, demonstrating the programme’s focus on employability rather than theory alone.
