What Is InnovateX 2026?

InnovateX is Blaze by Ecobank’s flagship innovation programme for young Nigerians. It brings together students, builders, and early entrepreneurs to turn practical ideas into working solutions for real problems in banking, technology, business, and everyday society.

Teams go through bootcamps, mentorship sessions, and regional pitching rounds before the strongest ideas advance to a grand finale.

Who Can Apply

InnovateX is open to:

• Nigerian citizens
• Students currently enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary institution
• Applicants between 16 and 25 years old
• Teams of four members
• Holders of a valid school ID

You will also need to open and maintain an active Blaze account, since it is a requirement for participation and doubles as your gateway to other perks tied to the programme.

The Two Innovation Tracks

Every team picks one track to compete under.

Track A: Inclusive Finance
For ideas that make financial services easier to access and use. This covers credit solutions for young people, fraud detection and prevention, financial inclusion tools, payment innovation, gamified savings or loyalty systems, and customer experience improvements.

Track B: Creative Economy
For solutions across Nigeria’s wider digital and commercial space. Think education, entertainment and the creator economy, service marketplaces, social innovation, e-commerce, and transport or logistics.

Pick the track that fits the problem you actually want to solve. Do not force your idea into a track just because it sounds more competitive.

Regional Selection

Ecobank has not published a fixed closing date for applications. What is confirmed is the grand finale, scheduled for 30 October 2026, which means the application and screening process will run in the weeks before then.
