FCMB Agritech Hackathon & Venture Building Program 2026: Up to ₦20 Million in Funding

FCMB Agritech Hackathon and Venture Building Program

FCMB Agritech Hackathon and Venture Building Program

The FCMB Agritech Hackathon & Venture Building Program 2026 is designed for founders who are building practical solutions for Nigeria’s agricultural sector but need the right support to scale. Many agritech startups develop products that solve real problems for farmers, processors, distributors, and food businesses. The challenge is not always innovation. It is becoming investment-ready.

Investors want businesses with strong financial records, clear governance, scalable operations, and sustainable business models. This programme bridges that gap by helping promising agritech ventures strengthen their foundations before they seek funding. Organised by FCMB in partnership with FMO, Heave Ventures, the European Union, and powered by the Zimara platform, the initiative gives startups access to mentorship, business development support, investor connections, and a ₦20 million competitive grant pool.

A Programme That Prepares You for Investors

Many startup competitions end after the final pitch. This programme is built differently.

The FCMB Agritech Hackathon & Venture Building Program focuses on preparing businesses for long-term growth by helping founders improve how they run their companies. Rather than concentrating only on presentations, participants work on strengthening operations, governance, financial reporting, compliance, and business systems.

The programme follows a structured journey.

First, eligible startups submit their applications. From there, 50 ventures are shortlisted to complete a series of operational and governance exercises through the Zimara platform. These exercises are designed to help founders build the structures investors expect to see before making funding decisions.

After this stage, the Top 20 startups advance to an intensive investment bootcamp where they receive expert guidance on finance, operations, governance, fundraising, and investor pitching before presenting at the final Demo Day.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to agritech businesses that are already operating in Nigeria.

To qualify, applicants should:

The organisers are looking for founders who have moved beyond the idea stage and are ready to build businesses capable of attracting investment.

What Will Participants Receive?

While the headline attraction is the ₦20 million grant pool, the programme offers much more than funding.

Selected startups will receive:

For many founders, becoming investment-ready is often the biggest prize. A well-prepared business has a much greater chance of attracting funding even after the programme has ended.

How to Increase Your Chances of Being Selected

If you plan to apply, avoid spending your entire application describing your technology.

The selection team will also want to understand your business.

Clearly explain:

Businesses that combine innovation with commercial potential are usually more attractive than ideas that rely solely on new technology.
