The Fembol Student Innovation Grant (SIG) 2.0 is back to give Nigerian students an opportunity to take their innovative ideas beyond the classroom. Student founders often have interesting solutions but lack the money, guidance and practical support needed to develop them. This programme is designed to close that gap by combining funding with mentorship and innovation support.
Fembol Group, a Nigerian logistics and supply chain company, is behind the initiative. Its official website currently advertises SIG 2.0 with funding of up to ₦2.5 million for selected student innovators.
What Is the Fembol Student Innovation Grant About?
The Fembol Student Innovation Grant supports young Nigerians who are developing bold and practical ideas that can solve real problems.
The first edition in 2025 focused on students with profit-driven, nonprofit or hybrid ideas and offered up to ₦3 million, alongside a fully funded innovation bootcamp and six weeks of mentorship.
SIG 2.0 builds on that model, giving students another platform to develop their ideas, learn from experienced professionals and gain exposure.
The opportunity is particularly useful for students who already have an idea, prototype, project or early venture and need help moving it forward.
Who Can Apply?
Based on the eligibility requirements published for the previous SIG cycle, the programme is aimed at young Nigerian students enrolled in tertiary institutions.
The previous edition required applicants to:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Be between 16 and 28 years old.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s programme at a Nigerian tertiary institution.
- Apply individually or preferably as a team of two to four people.
- Submit an innovative idea or an existing solution.
Because SIG 2.0 is a new edition, applicants should check the current application form carefully for any updated requirements before submitting.
What Will Participants Gain?
The main attraction is the funding, but the programme offers other useful support.
Selected participants can expect opportunities around:
- Up to ₦2.5 million in funding, according to Fembol’s current official listing.
- Innovation and business development support.
- Mentorship from experienced professionals.
- Exposure to industry leaders.
- Opportunities to develop and present their ideas.
- Visibility through Fembol Group and its partners.
The previous edition also included a three-day fully funded innovation bootcamp in Lagos and six weeks of one-on-one mentorship.
Deadline and Application Process
Submit your application between July 22 – August 21st, 2026

One thing prospective applicants should prepare is a clear explanation of the problem their idea solves, who will benefit from it, how it works and what they would do with the funding. A good idea becomes much easier to assess when the applicant can show that it is practical and capable of creating measurable impact.
The Fembol Student Innovation Grant (SIG) 2.0 is worth watching for Nigerian students who are serious about innovation and entrepreneurship. With funding, mentorship and industry exposure available, the programme could provide the push needed to turn a student project into something that can operate outside the school environment.
