The GET Compass SME Business Grant 2026 is designed for entrepreneurs who have proven that their business works but need support to reach the next level. In the early days of a business, founders often wear every hat. They market their products, manage customers, keep the books, and make every major decision. Then growth begins to slow. Not because demand disappears, but because the business needs better systems, stronger management, and additional capital to keep moving forward.
That is exactly the gap the GET Compass SME Business Grant 2026 is trying to fill. Rather than handing out grants and walking away, the programme combines funding with practical business development so entrepreneurs leave with stronger businesses, not just larger bank balances. It is an initiative of the Grooming Endowment Trust (GET), an organisation committed to supporting entrepreneurship and economic development in Nigeria.
A Grant That Invests in the Entrepreneur, Not Just the Business
Many grant programmes focus almost entirely on the money. GET Compass takes a broader view.
Businesses selected for the programme begin with a compulsory two-week business development workshop in Lagos, where they work with experienced facilitators on the everyday challenges that determine whether a business grows or stalls. Topics include financial management, customer acquisition, operational efficiency, leadership, and sustainable business planning.
Only after this stage do participants move forward in the grant programme.
Who Is the Programme Looking For?
This opportunity is aimed at entrepreneurs who have already taken the difficult first steps of starting a business.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 years or older.
- Own a business that is not more than three years old.
- Have a registered business, including CAC registration or another recognised business registration.
- Show evidence that the business is actively operating.
- Be available to attend the mandatory two-week physical workshop in Lagos.
The organisers are interested in businesses with genuine growth potential, regardless of industry. Whether you operate in food processing, fashion, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, logistics, beauty, education, or another sector, your application will be assessed on the strength of your business and your commitment as a founder.

What Successful Applicants Will Receive
Funding is only one part of the package.
Selected entrepreneurs will benefit from:
- Grant funding of up to ₦2 million.
- A two-week intensive business development programme.
- Business advisory sessions.
- Mentorship from experienced professionals.
- Practical strategies for improving business operations.
- Access to a growing network of fellow entrepreneurs and GET alumni.
Before You Submit Your Application
Many entrepreneurs spend most of their time describing what they sell.
A stronger application explains why customers choose the business, what problem it solves, and how the grant will create measurable growth.
If you are applying, avoid generic statements such as “I want to expand my business.” Instead, explain exactly how the ₦2 million would be used. Will it increase production? Purchase equipment? Open another outlet? Hire staff? Launch a new product line?
Reviewers are far more likely to support founders with clear, realistic plans than those who rely on ambitious promises.
