KPMG Global Tech Innovator Competition 2026 for Nigeria Startups

KPMG Global Tech Innovator Competition

KPMG Global Tech Innovator Competition

Picture this. Your startup, on stage in Lisbon, Portugal, pitching to a room full of international investors, industry heavyweights, and global tech leaders at the Web Summit, one of the biggest tech conferences on the planet. No cost to you. Fully funded. That is exactly what KPMG is putting on the table for Nigerian tech founders through the 2026 edition of its Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator Competition.

What is it About

The KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator Competition brings together some of the world’s most promising and bold technology innovators, founders and entrepreneurs who are challenging assumptions and building solutions to real-world challenges that may not have been imagined by others.

The competition runs in stages. Nigerian applicants first go through a national selection process where a country finalist is chosen. One entry from each national competition is selected to go to the finals in November 2026, where they will pitch to industry experts on stage and one overall winner is selected as the KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator 2026.

The submission process involves an online application followed by a six-minute live pitch broken into a three-minute pitch and a Q&A session. It is structured to test not just your idea, but your ability to communicate it under real pressure in front of real decision-makers.

The kinds of startups KPMG is specifically looking for are those who have moved well past the idea stage. It is a search for businesses that have moved beyond the idea phase and are demonstrating real-world traction, robust business models, and the potential to scale internationally.

Eligibility: Who Should Apply

This competition is not for idea-stage founders. The bar is set at startups with proven traction and either solid revenue or investor backing behind them. Here is what you need to qualify:

Your business must be a registered company, have been actively operating for seven years or less, generate annual revenue between $1 million and $15 million or have raised at least $500,000 in equity funding, and be either a pure technology or a tech-enabled, tech-driven, or tech-led business. You must not be majority-owned by a large corporate organisation, and you must be able to conduct all pitches in English.

Applicants must also be 18 years or older and residents of the country they are applying from. Nigerian startups apply specifically through the Nigeria track, and Nigerian startups that meet the eligibility criteria can apply through the official application portal.

What You Will Gain

There is no direct cash prize, but what KPMG offers in its place is arguably more valuable for a scaling startup.

National winners will secure standard-class flights, travel, and premium hotel accommodations to pitch live at the global final in November 2026 during the prestigious Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal. The visibility that comes from pitching at Web Summit in front of global investors is the kind of exposure most Nigerian startups spend years trying to access.

Participants gain access to KPMG mentors and advisers who bring deep industry knowledge and experience, with tailored guidance to refine their innovation and navigate the path to scaling their tech. They also secure regional and global media coverage to amplify their innovation’s visibility, strengthen their market presence, and attract potential users, customers, and future investors.

Beyond the competition itself, being named a KPMG Global Tech Innovator finalist is a credential that carries serious weight. It signals to investors, partners, and enterprise clients that your business has been validated by one of the most recognised professional services firms in the world.
