MTN Group MoMo API Hackathon 2023 for Entrepreneurs and Developers in Africa ($10,000 Prizes)

The MTN Group has made its Mobile Money platform accessible throughout its full footprint through the MoMo API programme as part of its commitment to bridging the financial inclusion gap.

MTN is now thrilled to invite businesses, founders, and developers from around Africa to take part in the third MoMo API Hackathon. By utilising the MTN mobile money (MoMo) API platform, this event offers a special chance for developers from Ghana, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Rwanda, Eswatini, Congo Brazzaville, Guinea Conakry, Zambia, Benin, South Africa, South Sudan, Liberia, and Nigeria to demonstrate their originality and innovation.

You will have the opportunity to develop ground-breaking financial applications that will promote financial inclusion and advance the digitization of payments in Africa by participating in the MoMo API Hackathon. Let’s work together to influence the direction of digital banking and give millions of people access to comprehensive and transformative financial services.

Requirements

• This hackathon involves group participation. Your squad can consist of no more than four people.
• Either ask other teams to add you as a member or ask your friends to establish a team.
• The hackathon will begin on July 31 and go until October 10, 2023. Only during the specified period can you work on your hack.
• Because it’s an online hackathon, anyone can take part.
• You must submit a hack that falls under one of the hackathon themes.
• Once the hackathon has begun, you will have the chance to submit your hack; You may submit it as many times as you like, but the most recent entry will be taken into consideration.
• Your ideas must be original and creative; any that have been lifted verbatim from another source will be dismissed.
• By the end of the hackathon, your hack must be complete in all of its stages. You can leverage free systems and services like Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds, and open-source libraries.
• Your team alone is the exclusive owner of the intellectual property in your code.
• By participating in the hackathon, you agree to HackerEarth’s terms and conditions.
