The Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has unveiled a major training initiative targeting young Nigerians. The Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Programme 2025 is designed to build local capacity and ready Nigerians for participation in upcoming oil & gas projects.
Program Features
Fully-sponsored technical training in high-demand areas of the oil & gas industry.
Monthly stipends for trainees throughout the training period.
Medical screening, full insurance coverage, and provision of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Practical skills training: classroom sessions, lab/workshop practice, professional certification, plus on-the-job training (OJT) with partner service companies (minimum six months).
After successful completion, trainees will be entered into the NCDMB National Skills Database for potential deployment in the industry.
Important Skills Areas
Training will span ten priority areas such as:
1. Sub-sea engineering (wellheads, flowlines, etc.)
2. Underwater welding engineering
Control & automation engineering (drilling, rig operations
3. Production & maintenance engineering
4. Geoscience engineering (seismic, wellsite geology)
5. Digitisation & digitalisation including AI, IoT, drones, cloud computing
Eligibility Criteria
- Nigerian citizens under 35 years old.
- Must hold a minimum of OND, HND or BSc in relevant fields (Engineering, Technology, Sciences, Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Gas, Welding, Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science).
- Must be available for full-time commitment to the training programme and internships where required.

- Visit the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGIC JQS) portal at nogicjqs.gov.ng and create or update your profile.
- Register for the Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Programme and select up to three preferred skill areas
- Complete any further application steps as required by the portal.
- Submit your application as early as possible (deadline not always specified).
