The One Million Leaders Africa (OMLA) Fellowship Program is an annual initiative designed to empower young African talents who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities. The program provides intensive training in leadership, sustainability, social innovation, and social entrepreneurship, and equips fellows with the skills and resources to implement impactful community projects.
Program Overview:
- Target audience: Young African leaders under 40 years old
- Purpose: To cultivate a network of sustainable social entrepreneurs and drive positive change in Africa.
- Program format: A one-year program consisting of two-month virtual training and ongoing support and mentorship throughout the year.
- Benefits:

- $50 monthly stipend
- $500 professional development grant

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Under 40 years old
- Based in Africa
- Fluent in English
- Have a strong commitment to making a positive impact in Africa
- Be able to commit to a one-year program (not a full-time commitment)
- Have reliable access to a fast and stable internet connection
- Be able to travel
Application Process:
- Applications are open from November 20, 2023, to January 20, 2024.
- The application process includes submitting an online application, a three-minute video introducing yourself and your project idea, and two letters of recommendation.
Timeline:
- November 20, 2023: Application opens
- January 20, 2024: Application closes
- March 2024: Interviews
- April 2024: Notification of admissions decisions
- May 2024: Fellowship begins
