The TTSWG Innovation Makers Challenge 2.0 for Early-stage Startups is an opportunity for young Nigerian innovators who are building technology solutions with the potential to improve lives. Many startups have promising products but struggle to access mentorship, industry connections, and the visibility needed to attract partners or investors. This challenge was created to help bridge that gap.

Organised by the Telecommunication and Technology Sustainability Working Group (TTSWG), the programme supports founders developing solutions that contribute to sustainable development while addressing challenges in sectors such as technology, education, agriculture, healthcare, energy, and climate innovation. Rather than focusing only on business ideas, the challenge is designed to identify founders who are ready to refine and grow their innovations.

What Is the Challenge About?

The Innovation Makers Challenge combines a nationwide innovation competition with practical learning and mentorship.

Applicants first submit their innovations for review. Shortlisted teams are invited to an intensive bootcamp where they receive guidance from experienced entrepreneurs, business leaders, and technology experts. The strongest participants then pitch their solutions at the Innovation Conference and Exhibition before judges, investors, and industry stakeholders.

The programme is aimed at helping founders strengthen both their products and their businesses while creating opportunities for partnerships and future investment.

Who Can Apply?

The challenge is open to early-stage innovators and startup founders in Nigeria.

Applicants should generally:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Apply individually or as a team of not more than five members.
• Have an original technology-driven innovation or startup.
• Be able to participate in the bootcamp and final pitching sessions if selected.

Innovations may cover areas such as:

• HealthTech
• AgriTech
• EdTech
• FinTech
• Assistive Technology
• EnergyTech
• Climate and sustainability solutions.
