What Is It About?
The WomenPower2030 Seed Grant is implemented by the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) under the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Action for Sustainable Development project. The initiative is part of a broader partnership led by Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF) and co-funded by the European Union. Its goal is to strengthen the leadership and participation of women, girls, and marginalized groups in climate action, sustainable development, and public policy.
Selected organisations will receive seed funding to implement projects lasting three to six months. Proposed initiatives should focus on one or more priority areas, including:
- Policy monitoring and engagement with policymakers.
- Gender equality and sustainable development awareness campaigns.
- Movement building and women’s leadership.
- Climate justice and sustainable community solutions.
- Gender-specific capacity-building and leadership training.
- Tracking Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate-related budgets.
- Digital and traditional media advocacy campaigns.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the WomenPower2030 Seed Grant 2026, applicants must:
- Be a women-led or women’s rights organisation.
- Be legally based and operating in Nigeria or Sierra Leone.
- Have women representing at least 70% of the organisation’s management team.
- Be affiliated with the Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME) or another recognized national, regional, or global women’s movement or network.
- Demonstrate the capacity to successfully implement the proposed project.
- Have no record of fraud or criminal convictions.
