Commonwealth Startup Fellowship 2026/2027 for Early-Stage Startups: Fully Funded Programme in Ghana and the UK

COMMONWEALTH STARTUP FELLOWSHIP

COMMONWEALTH STARTUP FELLOWSHIP

The Commonwealth Startup Fellowship 2026/2027 for Early-Stage Startups is designed for founders who have already proven that their business has potential and are ready to grow beyond their local market. Building a startup is one thing. Scaling it into a sustainable business that attracts customers, creates jobs, and secures investment is a completely different challenge.

This six-month fellowship brings together ambitious entrepreneurs from across eligible Commonwealth countries for a blend of intensive training, expert mentoring, international networking, and fully funded in-person experiences. Delivered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in partnership with Imperial Enterprise Lab, Imperial College London, the programme equips founders with the practical skills and global connections needed to accelerate business growth.

What Makes This Fellowship Different?

Unlike many accelerator programmes that focus only on fundraising, the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship is designed to strengthen every aspect of a startup.

The fellowship begins with online learning before selected founders attend a fully funded two-week bootcamp in Accra, Ghana, where they participate in workshops on leadership, fundraising, sales, scaling, financial planning, and building high-performing teams. Participants also engage with entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders from across the Commonwealth.

The programme concludes with a Capstone Week in London, United Kingdom, where founders refine their investment pitches, showcase their startups, and connect with investors, business leaders, and fellow entrepreneurs from around the world. Throughout the six months, participants receive personalised coaching, expert-led sessions, and ongoing peer support.
