Youth entrepreneurs in Edo State now have a fresh shot at serious, government-backed startup capital. The Edo Youth Impact Forum (EYIF) 2.0 Grant Programme 2026 has opened applications for founders at different stages of their business journey, offering funding, mentorship, and access to a growing innovation ecosystem in Benin City and beyond.
Whether you are still refining a business idea, already running a working product with early customers, or scaling a revenue-generating venture, EYIF 2.0 has a funding track designed to match where you currently stand. This is one of the more structured youth funding initiatives to come out of Edo State in recent years, and it is worth a close look if you qualify.
About the Programme
EYIF 2.0 is run by the Edo Youth Impact Foundation, a youth-focused development institution based at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City, Edo State. The Foundation grew out of the original Edo Youth Impact Forum, first convened in 2025, and now operates as a standing initiative dedicated to giving young entrepreneurs across the state access to capital, mentorship, and long-term business support.
The programme is built around three distinct funding tracks that correspond to a startup’s stage of growth: an Idea Track for founders with validated concepts who have not yet built a full product, a Build Track for founders with a working prototype or minimum viable product already gaining traction, and a Scale Track for founders whose businesses are already generating revenue and need capital to expand. Altogether, the programme is set to disburse up to ₦40 million in grants across these tracks, alongside non-cash support such as mentorship and structured business development.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a youth entrepreneur running a business based in Edo State, Nigeria.
- The business should fall into one of the three recognised stages: idea/pre-MVP, working MVP with early traction, or revenue-generating with proven traction.
- Applicants should apply to the specific track that matches their current business stage rather than a track that overstates or understates their progress.
- A clear, coherent business concept or operating model should be presentable, even at the earliest (Idea Track) stage.
- Founders should be prepared to participate in mentorship, evaluation, and any pitching or verification steps the Foundation requires as part of selection.
- Businesses already generating revenue should be able to show evidence of traction, such as sales records, customer numbers, or partnership agreements, when applying to the Build or Scale tracks.
Benefits
- Startup grant funding of up to ₦2.5 million (Idea Track), ₦5 million (Build Track), or ₦10 million (Scale Track), depending on the track awarded.
- Mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry professionals matched to your business stage and sector.
- Business growth and capacity-building support to help you strengthen operations, structure, and strategy.
- Networking opportunities within Edo State’s wider innovation ecosystem, including other funded founders and programme partners.
- Exposure to investors and potential strategic partners who may support further growth beyond the grant itself.
