Ideation Hub African Masterclass Series 6.0: Free 12-Week Impact Accelerator for Young Africans

The Ideation Hub Africa African Masterclass Series 6.0 is a free 12-week impact accelerator for African changemakers, entrepreneurs, nonprofit professionals, innovators and young leaders who want to turn ideas into practical solutions. The sixth edition, themed “The Impact Accelerator: Funding, Technology, Innovation, AI & Leadership for the Digital Age,” will train at least 2,500 participants through masterclasses, workshops, mentorship and project-based learning. Applications are currently open and are being reviewed on a rolling basis through August 2026.

What Is the African Masterclass Series 6.0?

The programme is organised by Ideation Hub Africa and is designed to help people working on social, economic and community problems gain the skills needed to move their ideas forward.

The organisers describe AMS 6.0 as a mini-MBA-style programme. Participants will spend 12 weeks learning about subjects that are increasingly important to entrepreneurs and social-impact organisations, including:

  • Funding and capital raising
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Digital tools
  • Innovation and product development
  • Digital marketing
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Leadership
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Policy and civic engagement

The programme is fully virtual, so participants can join from anywhere in Africa.

Who Can Apply?

The African Masterclass Series 6.0 is open to Africans aged 18 to 45, with women and underserved communities identified as priority groups.

The programme welcomes a fairly broad range of applicants, including:

  • Social entrepreneurs
  • Startup founders and innovators
  • NGO leaders
  • Nonprofit professionals
  • University students
  • Early-career professionals
  • AI and technology enthusiasts
  • Policy advocates
  • Development practitioners
  • Community leaders
  • Women leaders
  • Changemakers with early-stage ideas

You do not need to have a registered business or NGO to apply. The organisers specifically state that the programme supports both early-stage ideas and growth-stage ventures.

What Will Participants Gain?

There is no tuition fee for selected participants. The programme provides free access to the 12-week learning experience, including masterclasses, live sessions, Impact Cohort activities and a Certificate of Completion for participants who meet the graduation requirements.

Participants will also have access to 12 mentors from the development, entrepreneurship and policy sectors.

One interesting part of the programme is its Impact Cohorts. Participants will work in groups around areas such as:

  • Climate action
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Digital innovation
  • Education
  • Gender equality
  • Economic empowerment
  • Agribusiness
  • Civic engagement
  • Sustainable communities
  • Circular economy

There is also a Capstone Challenge, where participants can develop and pitch solutions to experts, funders and ecosystem leaders.

What Will You Learn?

The 12-week curriculum moves from basic idea development into areas that can help participants actually execute their projects.

Topics include human-centred product innovation, understanding African markets, raising capital, using AI for productivity, developing minimum viable products, data-driven decision-making, digital marketing, partnerships and policy.

The organisers expect the programme to generate more than 200 viable venture ideas, with at least 150 solutions expected to reach the market or pilot stage.

Deadline and Application Process

The application process is currently open.

Application deadline: Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis through August 2026. The official application page does not give a specific final day in August, so applicants should apply as soon as possible rather than wait for a fixed closing date.

Programme starts: September 2026.

The Ideation Hub Africa African Masterclass Series 6.0 is particularly suitable for someone who has an idea but needs structure, or an entrepreneur who already has a project and wants better knowledge of funding, AI, technology and leadership. Since participation is free and no registered organisation is required, the programme has a relatively low barrier to entry for young African changemakers.
