WFP Innovation Challenge

WFP Innovation Challenge 2026 ($100,000 Funding & Mentorship)

The WFP Innovation Challenge 2026 invites innovators, entrepreneurs and tech-driven problem solvers from around the world to design and deploy solutions that tackle hunger, strengthen food systems, and improve humanitarian responses. Organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) – the food assistance arm of the United Nations, this challenge elevates promising innovations with funding, tailored mentorship, and access to WFP’s global networks. A total of $100,000 in funding is available to support winners in scaling their solutions and driving real impact.

If your project leverages technology, data, digital tools, logistics, or community-driven approaches to improve how food is produced, distributed, accessed, or used, this is a chance to move from idea to tested solution with global support.

Key Benefits of WFP Innovation Challenge

Participants selected in the WFP Innovation Challenge 2026 will receive a package of support designed to accelerate impact:

Up to $100,000 in Funding
Winning teams receive funding to refine, pilot, or scale their innovations in real operational contexts.

Mentorship & Technical Support
Winners are paired with experts from WFP, humanitarian partners, and the private sector. Mentors help with strategy, product refinement, user testing, and partnership development.

Access to WFP Networks
Participants gain visibility and connections within WFP’s global ecosystem — including country offices, regional hubs, and partner organisations — opening doors to field trials and broader deployment.

Capacity Building & Workshops
Selected innovators join training sessions focused on business planning, impact measurement, humanitarian operations, data ethics, and scaling responsibly in complex settings.

Pilot & Field Opportunities
WFP may offer opportunities to test winning solutions in real settings where food security challenges are acute, providing invaluable feedback and proving the value of your innovation.
