AccounTech SME Growth Lab 2025 for Small Businesses

The AccounTech SME Growth Lab is a strategic pillar of the AccounTech Summit International 2025. It is a dedicated platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to access business development support, grants, and growth opportunities. The AccounTech SME Growth Lab includes workshops and/or panel sessions, live pitching sessions and networking with sponsors, investors, and corporate partners.

Program Objectives:

• Equip SMEs with knowledge, tools, and access to finance.

• Provide sponsors direct visibility and engagement with a high-volume SME audience.

• Expand the value proposition of the AccounTech Summit to cover innovation and enterprise growth.

Why SME Growth Lab?

Africa’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the engines of economic growth, representing 90% of businesses and 50% of jobs across the continent. Yet, these SMEs face a $330 billion annual funding gap, lack of financial management skills, deficiency in modern finance skills and a critical need for digital skills and access to markets.

The AccounTech SME Growth Lab 2025 is the platform where Africa’s most promising SMEs will access the knowledge, funding, and partnerships they need to scale and where sponsors and investors will find the next generation of market leaders.

What Happens at The AccounTech SME Growth Lab ?

1. SME Business Workshops

• Practical sessions on finance, digital transformation, and growth strategies.

• Led by sponsor companies, business leaders, and experts.

2. SME Pitch Competition

• 10 selected SMEs pitch their businesses live.

• 3 SMEs win business development grants (funded by sponsors).

• Judges are drawn from investors, banks, and corporate executives.

3. Investor and SME Networking Lounge

• Networking space for sponsors, SMEs, and exhibitors.

• Facilitates direct partnerships, investments, and deals.
