OceanHub Africa Acceleration Program 2026 (Up to $100,000)

Now in its seventh cohort, OceanHub Africa Acceleration Program has established itself as the heavy hitter for marine-focused innovation. The 2026 edition is a 12-month hybrid accelerator designed to take African startups from “promising prototype” to “investment-ready scale-up.”

The program runs two intakes (starting March and July 2026), but the selection happens now. It combines remote coaching with high-impact in-person events, including a bootcamp and the prestigious Ocean Innovation Africa Summit, where you get to showcase your solution to a global audience.

Benefits for Startups

The value proposition here is massive, particularly because it offers non-dilutive support (they don’t take equity upfront).

  • Significant Tech Credits: You gain access to perks worth over $100,000, including up to $75,000 in AWS cloud credits and $40,000 in mechanical engineering design software (via 3DExperience Lab). This is a game-changer for hardware or data-heavy startups.
  • Global Visibility: You are not just sitting in a classroom. You get a fully funded trip to the in-person bootcamp and the Ocean Innovation Africa Summit, placing you directly in front of specialized blue-tech investors and corporate partners.
  • Specialized Mentorship: Unlike generalist programs, your mentors here are oceanographers, maritime lawyers (providing legal advisory worth ~$50k), and blue-economy veterans who actually understand your market.
  • Investor Access: The program is a known pipeline for investors like Ocean14 Capital and Blue Oceans Partners.

Eligibility Criteria

OceanHub Africa is looking for “Ocean-minded” startups. You don’t have to be out at sea, but your impact must be clear.

  • Location: You must be a for-profit company based/operating in Africa.
  • Stage: You need to have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or be very close to launching one. Both pre-revenue and post-revenue startups are welcome.
  • Focus Areas: Your innovation must address ocean health directly or indirectly. This includes:
    • Sustainable Blue Food (Aquaculture, fisheries).
    • Circular Economy (Plastic waste reduction, upcycling).
    • Green Shipping & Ports (Logistics efficiency, clean energy).
    • Coastal Tourism & Marine Protection.
  • Team: You need a dedicated team with at least one person working full-time on the project.

Application Process

The clock is ticking on this one.

1. The Essentials:

You will need to submit a detailed application covering your business model, impact metrics, and technical roadmap.

2. Key Dates to Watch:

  • Shortlisting: January 2026.
  • Pitching: Final selection committees meet in February 2026.
  • Program Start: March 2026 (Intake 1) or July 2026 (Intake 2).
