Expected outcomes from the summit include connecting 500 or more African social enterprises to new partners and investors, the launch of a Pan-African Social Enterprise Fund, over 50 media features, and stronger national and regional policy conversations anchored in what founders at the summit are actually building.

The Pitch Competition

The social enterprise pitch competition at PSES 2026 is looking for solutions that are real, revenue-generating or revenue-ready, and directly address major challenges on the continent. This is not a competition for ideas still living on a slide deck. The judges want to see traction, even if early, and a clear picture of what problem you are solving, for whom, and how your enterprise sustains itself while doing it.

There are two categories:

Youth Category (Ages 22 to 35) Grand Prize: $4,000 cash

This category is for young social entrepreneurs with ventures addressing Africa’s most pressing challenges. If your enterprise is already operating and generating revenue or is demonstrably ready to do so, this is your category.

Young Innovators Category (Ages 15 to 21) Grand Prize: $2,000 cash

Open to younger innovators who are developing creative and impactful social enterprise ideas. The emphasis here is on the quality of the idea, the relevance of the problem being addressed, and the applicant’s ability to articulate a credible path to impact.

Both prizes are cash, paid directly to the winners.

Beyond the prizes, the pitch competition sits inside a much larger two-day event, and that context matters. Finalists get to pitch in front of investors, development partners, foundations, and corporate CSR leaders who are specifically at this summit because they are looking for social enterprises to fund, partner with, or support.

The summit also features a Social Enterprise Marketplace, where entrepreneurs sell directly to delegates and the public.
