RELX Environmental Challenge  2025 for Safe Water Projects ($50,000 Prize)

Winners of the RELX Environmental Challenge are projects that best show how they can offer long-term access to clean water or sanitary facilities. The winner of the first place entry will get $50,000, and the runner-up will receive $25,000. One year of complimentary access to ScienceDirect, our Scientific, Technical & Medical business’s library of full-text scientific information, which includes about 250,000 articles published since 2000 in the Environmental Sciences, will also be given to the winners.

The RELX Environmental Challenge is available for both individuals and organizations operating in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk and/or access to improved sanitation, and include the following criteria:

• Be replicable, scalable and sustainable. and set a benchmark for innovation
• Have practical applicability
• Address non-discrimination/equity of access
• Involve and impact a range of stakeholders
• Have local/community-level engagement
