Creative Economy Development Fund for Nigerians

Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) 2025 For Nigerian Creatives

The federal government, through the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, has opened Phase 2 of the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF), now easier to access with a sharper, more intuitive portal.

What’s On Offer:

  • Funding options include grants, loans, and equity investments, all designed to boost creative ventures up to $100,000.
  • If you’re a youth-led creative project in gaming, animation, fashion, music, publishing, visual arts, culinary, tourism, or heritage, you’re exactly who this is for.
  • The improved application interface streamlines everything—from proposal submission to tracking your application.

A Quick Rewind-Phase 1 Recap:

  • Ran from April 28 to June 30, 2025, focusing on projects requesting $100,000 or more, with incubation and acceleration steps already in motion. Disbursements were expected to begin in January 2026.
  • It broke new ground by enabling IP-based collateral, such as music rights, game concepts, and designs, as a means to access finance.

Why It Matters:

  • It opens non-traditional funding doors to creatives who typically struggle with conventional collateral requirements.
  • Whether you’re seeking a grant for a social impact piece or equity to scale a high‑growth creative brand, there’s room for you.
  • It aligns with national priorities to build a more inclusive, youth‑driven creative economy.

Deadline Shift-But Still Close:

  • Originally set to close on September 1, 2025, there’s now an extension to October 1, 2025. This opens up more breathing room to polish your application and apply.

Want to Apply?

  1. Head to the official CEDF portal, usually through FMACTCE or at cedf.gov.ng.
  2. Applications may require details like:
    • Business or personal registration information
    • Audited financials (for at least two years)
    • Your IP description, growth plan, team, and traction
  3. Be clear on whether you’re applying for a grant, loan, or equity—and tailor your submission accordingly.

Above all, tell your story: what you’re building, its creative value, and how it can grow, backed by numbers or past results. A personal voice makes a difference.

Application Deadline: October 1, 2025
