Did you know that out of all the billions raised by African startups recently, less than 1% went to female-founded teams? It is a stark gap, but the teams at Wetech and the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub are working to change that narrative.
If you are a woman building a business in Nigeria and looking for the tools, networks, and funding to scale, the Wetech PitchHer 2026 Investment Readiness Programme is tailored exactly for you. This initiative is designed to take early-stage female founders from simply wanting to raise capital to being completely investor-ready.
Program Features
This is a highly structured, 8-week accelerator delivered in partnership with the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub (funded by the UK Government’s Digital Access Programme).
- Phase 1 (Weeks 1–6): A deep dive into financial rigor, investor fluency, and pitch development. Only 25 founders will be selected for this intensive cohort.
- Phase 2 (Weeks 7–8): The top 6 standout founders from the cohort will advance to two weeks of intensive 1-on-1 pitch coaching, pitch deck polishing, and simulated investor Q&A sessions.
Who Should Apply?
The programme is sector-agnostic, meaning it is open to startups across all industries. You are an ideal fit if you meet the following criteria:
- You are an early-stage, Nigeria-based woman founder or co-founder.
- Your startup is at the pre-seed stage with a product or service already in the market, generating revenue, or actively being tested by real users.
- You have a validated problem and early business traction.
- You have a genuine intention to actively raise capital within the next 12 to 18 months.
Program Benefits
Participating in this cohort opens doors that are typically tough to crack open alone:
- Funding Opportunity: A chance to compete for a share of the ₦8.5 million cash prize pool.
- Massive Visibility: The top 6 finalists will pitch live on stage in front of over 2,500 investors, ecosystem leaders, and peers at the Wetech 2026 Flagship Conference, “The Power Shift,” on September 26, 2026, at the Landmark Centre in Lagos.
- Investor Network: Direct education and interaction with active angel investors and venture capitalists.
- One-on-One Mentorship: Practical support to master investor due diligence and present your numbers confidently.
