What Is the Africa Fundraising Incubator?

The Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) is a flagship initiative of the New Africa Fund (NAF). Previously known as the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant, the programme helps African organizations strengthen their fundraising capacity through practical training and hands-on experience.

The programme is delivered in four stages:

• Online fundraising training covering small-donor campaigns and fundraising strategy.
• A 30-day fundraising challenge where participants launch real fundraising campaigns.
• Twelve months of free fiscal sponsorship to strengthen organizational systems.
• A one-week leadership and fundraising boot camp in Kigali, Rwanda, for the highest-performing organizations.

Rather than focusing only on grant writing, AFI equips organizations with practical tools to develop long-term financial sustainability.

Who Can Apply?

The programme welcomes organizations that are legally registered in any of the 54 African Union member states.

Eligible applicants include:

• Non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
• Community-based organizations (CBOs).
• Social enterprises.

Applications may be submitted in English or French. Applicants should also be prepared to provide:

• Organization registration documents.
• The most recent external audit, or financial statements covering the previous five months if an audit is unavailable.
