The Enugu State Government, in collaboration with Magic City Labs and Magic Lab Academy, has officially launched Batch 2 of the Enugu Magic Labs Animation Training (EMAT) program. This six-month educational initiative aims to train over 400 Nigerian youths in 2D illustration and 3D motion design, equipping them with high-income digital skills for the growing animation industry.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
The program is open to Nigerian youths from 16-45 years (employed or unemployed) with a passion for animation and storytelling. Applicants must be able to read and write and have access to a computer or laptop that meets the specified technical requirements.
Technical requirements for participants
Participants need a computer or laptop with the following specifications:
- Processor: Core i5
- RAM: 8GB
- Free Disk Space: 16GB
- Graphics Card: Hardware-accelerated OpenGL
Operating System: Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11
NOTE: having a laptop is mandatory for this program.
Duration of the training program
The training program runs for six (6) months, divided into:
- 3 months of coursework
- 3 months of project work Training sessions will be held three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), lasting three hours each. The program includes practical exercises, project-based learning, and a capstone project, providing participants with industry-standard software skills.

Graduates will receive the following support:
- Instructor Access: Two months of continued guidance from instructors.
- Job Fair Participation: Connections with potential employers and industry leaders.
- Portfolio Development: Assistance in creating professional portfolios to showcase their skills.
- Platform Onboarding: Graduates will be onboarded onto platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, LinkedIn, and Giga for global job opportunities.
- Project Placement: The top 10% (approximately 40 students) will be offered project placements.
Magic Lab City Project Initiatives: Participation in revenue-generating projects like YouTube content creation and job sourcing opportunities.
How to access the Human Capital Development Loan (HCDL)?
For the Applicant:
- One (1) National ID (Driver’s License, National Passport, Voter’s Card, or NIN)
- Three (3) passport photographs
For the Guarantor:
- One (1) National ID
- Two (2) passport photographs
- Undated cheque from a CBN-recognized bank (collateral)
