To drive higher R&D outcomes, the Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council is seeking R&D projects that produce new and iterative inventions across multiple sectors, including:
- Public Service: Healthcare, Transportation/Mobility, Education, Security, Inclusivity, etc.
- Circular Economy: Agriculture, Food Security, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, etc.
- Emerging Technology: Blockchain, Laser Technology, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the LASRIC R&D Award, the applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be Principal investigator of not below Senior Lecturer Grade.
- Be a lecturer in a higher institution in Lagos State or be ready to collaborate with a higher institution in Lagos State.
- Have a patented or patent-ready research outcome (s).
- Be a junior or senior researcher in any research institute registered and based in Lagos State and have a letter of sponsorship from such institute. The research institute must be legally mandated to conduct research in areas including agriculture, environment, climate change, oceanography, technology, and other relevant areas.
- Applied research relevant to the Economy of Lagos will be an advantage.
Successful Research applications will be awarded up to 5 million Naira.
