Most grants hand you money and wish you luck. The WomanKind Creative Grant 2027 does something different: it gives a women’s health startup a full branding and design team for six weeks, valued at US$15,000.
It is not cash, and that is worth saying plainly. But if your product is good and your brand is the thing holding you back, this could be the better prize.
About the Programme
The grant is run by WomanKind Alliance, a nonprofit that supports companies building solutions in women’s health. The design work is sponsored by the creative agency Alfa Charlie.
It is open to women’s health startups worldwide, including femtech, with a focus on early-stage and Series A companies. The organisers state that international applicants are welcome, including founders based in Africa.
Benefits
The winner gets a six-week design partnership starting in mid-January 2027. It includes a six-hour brand strategy workshop, a visual identity covering logo, colour palette and typography, and a Brand Compass Book.
In the final week the team produces business and marketing materials such as pitch decks and packaging, followed by three follow-up consultations. Usually one main winner is chosen twice a year, and smaller microgrants or workshops may occasionally go to other applicants, though that is not guaranteed.
Eligibility Criteria
- Your company must be developing a solution in women’s health, including femtech.
- Early-stage and Series A companies are the stated focus.
- International applicants are eligible, including founders based in Africa.
- Selected founders must be available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time during the project, which is a late afternoon and evening commitment in Nigeria.
- Applications are judged on originality, potential impact, clarity of purpose, understanding of the problem and branding needs.
